What does Nova for iPhone do?

• Record a meeting or a voice note with live, on-device transcription (Apple SpeechAnalyzer — no time limit, no server).
• Import a call recording and get the same transcript and notes.
• Notes written on the device by Apple Intelligence where available, or by your Mac when paired (see Mac engine), with a built-in summariser otherwise.
• Calendar: recordings are named after the event you're in, and notes can be added to that event.
• Claude: anything said for Claude becomes an instruction that NovaHUD on your Mac delivers.
• Meetings, search, playback and sharing, synced with your Mac and Apple Watch.

Can Nova answer or record my phone calls automatically?

No, and no iPhone app can: iOS does not let third-party apps answer, join or listen to phone calls. What works instead:

1. During the call, tap the record button in the Phone app (everyone on the call is told it's being recorded).
2. After the call, open the recording in Notes, tap ⋯ › Save Audio to Files.
3. In Nova, tap Import a call and choose the file.

Nova then transcribes it, writes notes, sends any Claude instructions to your Mac, and can add the notes to your calendar. Only record people who know they're being recorded; the law differs by place.

Does Nova upload my recordings?

No. Recordings and transcription stay on your iPhone. Only the notes and instructions sync through your own iCloud account, and the iPhone talks to your Mac only on your local network after pairing.

Which iPhones are supported?

iPhones on iOS 26 or later. Apple Intelligence notes need a supported model; other iPhones use your paired Mac or the built-in summariser.
