There is no ticket portal and no chatbot. Email support@novahud.app and a human reads it.

Something is broken

Email support@novahud.app with the details below. Most problems are audio-device or permission problems and are quick to pin down once the log is in hand.

Billing, refunds and licences

Same address. Refunds are given in full within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. The monthly plan can be cancelled at any time, from the account page in the app.

Privacy requests

To have your referral email address and its records deleted, ask at the same address. Requests are actioned by hand. What is stored is listed in full on the privacy page.

Before you write

Four things that make a fix same-day

None of these are required — write anyway if you would rather. But a report with them usually gets an answer rather than a question back.

  • Your Mac model and macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac).
  • What you said or did, and what happened instead.
  • Which microphone was selected, and whether it is Bluetooth. Audio-device handling is the single most common source of trouble.
  • The diagnostic log — NovaHUD writes it to /tmp/nova-hud.log. Attach it, or paste the last hundred lines or so.

The log stays on your Mac unless you choose to send it. Nothing is uploaded automatically — there is no crash-reporting or analytics SDK in the app.

Try these first

The four things most often reported, and what they usually are.

macOS says NovaHUD cannot be verified

Expected on the current build. It is signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate but has not been notarised by Apple yet, so Gatekeeper blocks a double-click. Right-click (or Control-click) NovaHUD in your Applications folder, choose Open, and confirm. macOS remembers, so every launch after the first is normal.

Notarisation is planned — see the changelog.

It cannot hear me

Check microphone permission first: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and make sure NovaHUD is allowed. macOS asks on first launch and the app cannot listen until you say yes.

If permission is granted and it still hears nothing, note which input device is selected — particularly if it is a Bluetooth headset — and send that along with /tmp/nova-hud.log.

Nothing is spoken back

Check the card's mode: a session set to Quiet says nothing by design, though it still delivers everything you send to it. Read aloud speaks output in full; Summary speaks the bottom line.

Also check you have not muted with ⌘⇧M.

Routing sends things to the wrong session

Address the session by its orb colour — "blue orb, …" — which is the least ambiguous handle there is, or give it a short distinct nickname. Similar-sounding session names are the usual cause.

If a specific phrase reliably goes to the wrong place, that is worth an email: send the phrase and the names of the sessions that were open.

Where do I sign in?

In the app, or on the sign-in page. You do not need an account for the three-day trial; signing in is what carries a licence across installs and Macs.
